In a world of constant progress to stand still is to go backwards. It wasn’t that long ago that tickets were issued on hard stock and had to be brought with you whenever you went to a show. Then, as cell phone technology evolved, everything became digitalized. Now, we are in the cycle of delivering an enhanced experience by building sophisticated technology on top of what was previously a generic mechanism granting access to an event.
Apple Wallet enhanced mobile ticket home screen
AXS is the ticketing arm of AEG (Anshutz Entertainment Group), one of the world’s largest promoters and operator of teams, venues and concert tours. The are rolling out their upgraded mobile ticketing capacity starting at the iconic Red Rocks amphitheater in the hills surrounding Denver, Colorado.
The first enhanced mobile tickets released for the Shawn Mendes Concert on October 28th, 2024. The plan is to enable the new capacity for all shows at Red Rocks following their debut. The new features enabled give Apple Wallet holders access a suite of information beyond just the date, time, row and seat which are common on most mobile tickets.
The integration now allows for the fan to see where their seat is within the venue, how to find parking, what the amenities are at the venue, mobile food ordering, and ticket management. AXS has also integrated thoughtful features such as weather forecasts and the ability to share location with others who are at the event.

There are likely more helpful options to come in the near future.
“We are incredibly proud to collaborate with Apple to bring the new event tickets in Apple Wallet to Red Rocks Amphitheatre. This will make one of the most iconic venues even more special and engaging for our fans,” said Justin Burleigh, Chief Product Officer at AXS.
These new enhanced tickets only works for iPhone users who using Apple IOS 18 or later. For those who already have this technology in their pocket or purse, it is a fun and free boost to the concert going experience by centralizing all key information alongside the ticket. Given that AXS currently tickets some 1,300 sports and entertainment brands, the full roll out of this new upgraded online experience will undoubtedly enhance the experience of going to see a live event with friends.
