UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s serves summer lunch for youngsters in Elyria

University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital will offer the Kids

University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital will offer the Kids Summer Lunch Program at select UH locations, including Elyria, according to a news release.

Children ages 1–18 are eligible to receive a free, healthy bag lunch, the release said.

Any child is eligible to receive a complimentary meal; there is no income qualification, according to the release.

Registration is not required.

Children must consume the meals onsite.

Lunches are available from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, from June 6 to Aug. 18, at UH Elyria Medical Center, 630 E. River St., according to the release.

"We are so excited to be able to continue this program that offers children a hot, nutritious meal every weekday all summer long," said Kathie Wesolowski, director of the Women's and Children's Community Outreach, UH Rainbow Babies & Children's, in the release. "Providing a delicious and fresh meal while also interacting with the families and sharing nutrition and safety education is one of our favorite community outreach initiatives."
