CHEROKEE, Iowa (KCAU) — A local initiative is taking donations to help women in need.

“Handbags with Hope” is collecting purses and toiletries for women who need them. This includes those who have been victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, drug addiction, and homelessness.

Restoration Church gives out hundreds of pairs of shoes to kids

Donations can be dropped off at the First Church of Christ in Cherokee, located on 722 North 2nd Street.
